Ironside State School : I will keep the faith - Servabo fidem

Time past very fast. After a long school holiday, schools in Queensland resume on 28 January 2014. What a huge surprise, now, my older son enrolled as Prep (preparation-same as Pra-sekolah in Malaysia) student at Ironside State School. Since he received a letter from his class teachers in December 2013, Aqiel was so eager and excited to start his first day at school.
Letter from Mrs Fairhall and Mrs Parker about 1 month before school resumed

My wife and I were very sure that he is not going to face any trouble and can easily settle down in the class.

Ironside State School is one of the best schools in Queensland. It is well known for its excellence and stellar academic records. We are lucky enough that we live within the school catchment area. Hence, getting a placement was not a problem.

Aqiel was more than ready for his first day of school at Ironside State School...but Aleesya had mixed feelings..

I am the first!
The ambiance was so welcoming...so exciting for the kids... We personally think that there is a lot that Malaysia can learn from the Australian education system.

It was a BIG day for everyone!
The classroom looks more like a play pit rather than a class...The system has been developed in such a way that kids thought that they are just playing and having fun, but they are actually learning without even realizing it!

Aqief wanted to be part of the class too....

so welcoming....

oh, it is play doh!
The teachers are so approachable and friendly to kids. This is critical to ensure that kids feel comfortable and always look forward to attending school.
There are six groups for Prep at Ironside State School in 2014.Aqiel was assigned to Prep FP. His class teachers are Mrs Elizabeth Fairhall and Mrs Helen Parker. Both are sweet looking and lovely....

A few messages to Mrs Parker before we left him...

"I will be fine...."

"Take care Darling, and have fun!"

See you at 3.00pm! Bye!
It was finally time to leave him in the classroom to learn and explore the world....Enjoy your new journey Darling!
